I am sorry to report that "THE CRUSHER" has claimed yet another victim.
In my dance class today, we had a few extra minutes so I decided to have the girls play freeze tag (first mistake). One girl was running, and decided to run near the wall (2nd mistake). Then she decided to look back behind her (3rd mistake). She slammed into the wall head first. Its as if the crusher's bright red paint pulls them in...no mercy
The girl had a lump the size of Nebraska on her forhead, and her tears of pain almost made me feel bad for her, but what really made me feel bad is the fact that she is 7.
You know it's almost more sad that they are dumb enough to run into a wall than the fact that they got hurt.

maybe it was an abstract piece?
Occasionaly at work, the kids draw pictures while they wait for their class. For some reason they find great joy in giving these materpieces to me. Most of it is colored scribbles, or something totally crappy, but every now and then a kid makes something that I don't immediately throw into the nearest trashcan.
Yesterday, one of my kids gave me something pretty decent. It looked like a gigantic orange dinosaur and a person (who I would like to assume is me) riding it through what appeared to be a forest. It was pretty detailed, and pretty awesome.
The part that got me, is when I asked the kid who the person was riding the dinosaur, she looked at me like I was crazy and told me it was a picture of santa on his sled. She then took the picture back and gave it to another teacher. I was hurt at the re-gifting, but moreso about the fact that it wasn't a picture of me riding a dinosaur.
